Eight-time consecutive Club Champion (1956–1963), Muriel Porter set the benchmark for women’s golf at Royal Fremantle. A devoted committee member, Life Member (1993), and namesake of the Muriel Porter Trophy — one of the Club’s most prestigious women’s events — her legacy continues to inspire generations of players.

A massive thank you to the volunteers that gave their all, we couldn’t do it without you 💚 Having the level of volunteers we do makes such a huge difference to the operation, allowing us to achieve so much more in the three days!
Thank you members for your patience throughout the renovations 🚜 These few days are integral to the overall health of the golf course, allowing us to create space for fresh roots to grow and receive more nutrients, water, air and remove any unwanted organic matter, which in turn will give us a tighter, more resilient playing surface!
Last but definitely not least, big thanks to our greens team for the hard yards ensuring Royal Fremantle stays world-class.⛳💪

🏆 Spotlight on Past Club Champions - Dennis Bell
A champion, leader and mentor whose legacy endures at Royal Fremantle — forever honoured with Bell’s Way ⛳
Club Champion at just 16 in 1956, Dennis Bell became one of WA’s most decorated golfers. Holding Australia’s lowest handicap (+4) in 1961, he set a course record of 66 and went on to win State Junior Champion in 1960, State Amateur Champion in 1960, 1961, 1966 and 1970, and State Open Champion in 1961, 1963 and 1966 as well as the inaugural Royal Fremantle Open in 1965.
Across 19 years representing WA, 11 as Captain, and seven appearances for Australia, Dennis distinguished himself as both player and leader. His Pennant career, as both player and coach, spanned 41 years!
Life Member (2001) and @golfwestaust Industry Hall of Fame inductee (2017), Dennis’s impact on Royal Fremantle was so profound that the 9th hole, Bell’s Way, bears his name — a lasting tribute to his six decades of excellence, leadership, and devotion to the game.

🏆 Spotlight of Past Club Champion: Brett Roberts
Brett Roberts joined Royal Fremantle in 1990 at just 17 years of age. It didn’t take long for him to establish himself as an integral part of the Club, winning the Goyder Cup in 1991 off a 19 handicap. Brett’s golf quickly progressed with him representing RFGC in the victorious A Grade Pennant Team of 1995, making it down to a scratch golfer.
His achievements continued with his name etched on the prestigious Anzac Shield in 1995, Anniversary Cup and Royal Fremantle Amateur Open in 1997 and the Royal Fremantle Cup in 2003. Among a strong line-up of players, Brett went on to secure the Club Championships in 2008 and 2012.
Beyond his personal success, Brett has been a constant presence and leader within the pennant community. Known for proudly donning the RFGC Sunday Red, he first took on the role of Pennant Captain in 2003 and continues to this day as Division 4 Pennant Captain.
