Snippets from the Course – 10/4

Published on 10th April 2026

We hope you all had a great easter and enjoyed the long weekend.

Following the recent rain and the long weekend, the team has been catching up on some mowing and general course maintenance to keep things presented to a high standard.

As many of you are aware, the 9th tee has again been impacted by tree root intrusion this season. Tree roots compete heavily with the turf for moisture and nutrients, which leads to thinning surfaces and poor recovery. To address this, we excavated the affected area, removed the encroaching roots from the top layer and re-laid new turf to restore a decent playing surface.

We will be carrying out similar work on the 17th and 7th tee this week, the wear and tear on these tees has become very difficult to manage but again we will level and returf them.

You may have also noticed the fallen tree in the fairway bunker on the 5th, 4 of our staff spent 3 hours clearing the mess during the Tuesday competition. Fortunately, it seems like most of you are on the fairway and keeping clear of the drop zone lately!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone out enjoying the course over the weekend and wishing you all the best for the Royal Fremantle Cup this Sunday!
