Your generosity, care and hospitality played a truly vital role in the success of the Webex Players Series Perth.
Across the week, 17 hosts warmly welcomed 27 players into their homes, offering far more than just a place to stay. You provided airport pickups at all hours, transport to practice and competition rounds, home-cooked meals, local knowledge, encouragement on the sidelines and, most importantly, a sense of comfort and belonging away from home.
One host shared their experience of welcoming Rua, a young professional golfer from Japan, on her very first trip to Perth and first professional tournament. From navigating late-night airport arrivals to cheering her on through competition rounds, their story perfectly captured what billet hosting is all about — support, connection and genuine care. They spoke of the privilege of seeing first-hand the bravery it takes for young athletes to step into professional sport, and the joy of forming bonds that extend well beyond the week itself.
Stories like this were echoed across many homes – friendships formed, cultures shared, and players feeling truly welcomed into the Royal Fremantle community. It is a commitment of time and resources, and one that does not go unnoticed.
