Fremantle Bridge Closure – Impact on the Club
Published on 12th January 2026Upcoming Traffic Disruptions – Please Allow Extra Travel Time
Members are advised that there will be significant changes to the road network in and around Fremantle due to upcoming works impacting Swan River crossings.
These changes include modified traffic light phases, restricted turning movements, and the removal of some turns. For example, right-hand turns from Stirling Highway onto Marmion Street or Canning Highway will not be permitted. The changes are designed to keep Stirling Highway moving, as traffic volumes through this corridor are expected to effectively double during the works.
As a result, delays are likely, particularly for those crossing the river or travelling around wider Fremantle. This may affect members and staff travelling to and from the Club, and members are encouraged to allow extra time for tee times and consider alternative routes.
For full details, including an interactive map of all road changes, please visit the Main Roads WA project website via the link below. Printed flyers with maps will also be available around the Club.

Thank you for your patience and planning ahead — the cranes and scaffolding may be the first hint, but this is your official heads-up.
