Royal Fremantle was strongly represented in the match play stages of the 2026 WA Amateur Championships, with our players progressing deep into the draw across both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s events.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Draw<\/h2>\n

Amanda Gan <\/strong>produced a composed week of match play, advancing all the way to the 36-hole final. She opened with a convincing 4&3 win in the Round of 16 against Chanelle Maxwell (RPGC) before prevailing in a tight quarter final that required extra holes, closing out to Isabella Leniartek (RPGC) on the 19th.<\/p>\n

In the semi final, Amanda controlled the match early and maintained momentum to secure a 4&3 victory against Sophie Williams (MLGC), earning her place in Sunday\u2019s final with Georgia Garner-Dart (LKCC). In the championship decider, she battled strongly over 36 holes before going down 2&1 in a high-quality contest.<\/p>\n

Taehee Woo<\/strong> also progressed through to the semi finals, showing resilience in the Round of 16 with a hard-fought 2up win in an all-Royal Fremantle matchup with Sarah Terrell<\/strong>. She extended her quarter final to the 22nd hole against Sasha Hoffman (GGC), demonstrating strong competitive grit. Making it to semi-finals against Georgia Garner-Dart (LKCC) where she felt short 4&3. Well fought Taehee!<\/p>\n

Dempsey Brown<\/strong> and Heejoo Cho<\/strong> both qualified for match play and competed strongly in the Round of 16, with Dempsey narrowly defeated 1up and Heejoo going down 6&5.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Draw<\/h2>\n

In the men\u2019s event, Kloden Brown<\/strong> advanced to the semifinals after a series of impressive performances. He claimed a narrow 1up victory in the Round of 32 against Zach Nayar (JCC) and showed composure under pressure to close out his Round of 16 match on the 19th hole against another RFGC member, Thomas Pyke.<\/strong> In the quarter final, Kloden again drew close to Mason Burr<\/strong> (GGC & RFGC) 1up in another tight encounter before eventually falling in the semi final 5&3 to Nate Johnson (JCC). Incredible week Kloden.<\/p>\n

Thomas Pyke<\/strong> and Zach Capelli <\/strong>both recorded strong Round of 32 wins (5&3), highlighting the depth of Royal Fremantle\u2019s emerging talent. Paired up against an all-Royal Fremantle match up for Round of 16, Capelli conceded 5&4 to Mason Burr, while Pyke ultimately lost against Kloden on the 19th.<\/p>\n

Scott Baker,<\/strong> Mandeep Singh<\/strong> and Josiah Edwards<\/strong> also featured in the match play stages competing in the Round of 32, yielding 2&1.<\/p>\n

A great week for Royal Fremantle, showcasing our players\u2019 depth, composure and ability to perform under pressure. Our representatives demonstrated the competitive standard that continues to define Royal Fremantle golf on the state stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
