

Royal Fremantle was governed from 1905 - 1999 under the Committee System common to most clubs. In 2000 the members acknowledged at the AGM that Royal Fremantle with a multi-million dollar budget and a significant staff had to be administered as a business and moved to a Board of Directors.
The Board comprises a Chairman who is also the Captain of the club, a Deputy Chairman who is also the club Vice Captain as well as Directors of Finance, Golf, Course, Membership and House. Directors are elected by members and hold office for a term of two years. The Club General Manager reports directly to the Board.
The Board may appoint a President of the Club. The President presides as Chairman at General Meetings and represents the Club as and when requested by the Board. The President has no other authority.
The Associate members have their own committee that runs their competitions and social activities. However, this committee has no authority to make decisions that affect the running of the club.
The activity of all club junior members is managed by a Junior Members Committee.
